Prof. Anteneh Belete is Training Lead at CDT Africa and works at Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics at College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University. His area of expertise is Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmaceutical Technology. He has served AAU in various capacities (Head of the Department and A/Director for Staff Affairs, Academic Standards and Quality Assurance as well as Director for Research and Technology Transfer in addition to serving in several ad-hoc and standing committees at Department, School, College and University levels). He is routinely involved in teaching and research activities at the University. Prof. Belete is a fellow of the Ethiopian Young Academy of Sciences and also serves as Associate Editor of the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Journal. Prof. Belete graduated in Pharmacy from Addis Ababa University and was subsequently trained in Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics in Addis Ababa University and Martin-Luther University-Halle/Saale, Germany.
He is the Study Management Manager in the regional center for testing the quality of medicines - the Regional Bioequivalence Center, in which he is tasked with study planning, study coordination, scientific writing and biometric studies. He is currently a member at the National Research Ethics Review Committee (NRERC). He has presented a number of research findings in both international and local conferences. He has published over 30 research articles. He has research interest in formulation and in vitro/in vivo evaluation of modified release and nano-scaled drug delivery systems, development of alternative pharmaceutical excipients from local natural resources, pharmacokinetic clinical studies of medicines including bioequivalence and bioavailability studies, as well as development of phytopharmaceuticals from traditional medicinal plants. He was the principal investigator of a thematic research project at the AAU, co-PI of a Science and Technology Minister (MOST) supported research project and a member of the core team of CDT-Africa, the ACE-II World Bank project.
