Profile: Dr. Merga Belina is a statistician from Ethiopia. Merga is a faculty member of Addis Ababa University and a post-doctoral research associate at CDT-Africa. As part of his post-doctoral work, Merga is involved, as a trial statistician, in a clustered randomized trial of the WHO Caregiver Skills Training to SuPport African communities to increase the Resilience and mental health of Kids with developmental disabilities and their caregivers (SPARK) in Kenya and Ethiopia. Merga also gives consultations on Methodologies and Statistical issues for staff and students at CDT-Africa, Addis Ababa University.

Areas of Expertise: A Statistician by training, Biostatistician and Trial statistician.

Academic Background:  BSc, MSc, PhD in Statistics from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Postdoctoral training in Biostatistics from the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Stellenbosch University, Western Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa. 

Current Position: Dr. Merga is a post-doctoral research associate at CDT-Africa, Addis Ababa University and Extraordinary Senior Lecturer at Stellenbosch University.
